Butcher's latest 'Dresden Files' novel makes best-seller list

It’s Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly review of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Seller List. According to the list, we’ve got three new books at the top of the four major best-seller lists this week.

“Sing You Home: A Novel” by Jodi Picoult replaced “Treachery in Death” by J.D. Robb as the top book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list.

“A Creed in Stone Creek” by Linda Lael Miller replaced “This Side of the Grave” by Jeaniene Frost as the No. 1 book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list.

“Water for Elephants: A Novel” by Sara Gruen replaced “Heaven is for Real” by Todd Burpo, Sonja Burpo, Colton Burpo and Lynn Vincent as the top book on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list.

“Unbroken” by Laura Hillenbrand retained the No. 1 spot on the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list.

There are five books on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. Those books (and their place on the list) are "Sing You Home: A Novel" by Jodi Picoult (1), "The Wise Man's Fear" by Patrick Rothfuss (2), "River Marked" by Patricia Briggs (3), "Minding Frankie" by Maeve Binchy (4) and "Twilight's Dawn: A Black Jewels Book" by Anne Bishop (14).

There are eight books on this week’s hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They include "Blood, Bones & Butter: The Inadvertant Education of a Reluctant Chef" by Gabrielle Hamilton (2), "Tell to Win: Connect, Persuade, and Triumph with the Hidden Power of Story" by Peter Guber (3), "In the Blink of an Eye: Dale, Daytona, and the Day that Changed Everything" by Michael Waltrip and Ellis Henican (6), "Revolt!: How to Defeat Obama and Repeal His Socialist Programs" by Dick Morris and Eileen McGann (7), "Surviving Your Serengeti: 7 Skills to Master Business and Life" by Stefan Swanepoel (11), "Life" by Keith Richards (13), "Untied: A Memoir of Family, Fame, and Floundering" by Meredith Baxter (14) and "Win: The Key Principles to Take Your Business from Ordinary to Extraordinary" by Frank I. Luntz (15).

There are five books on this week’s mass market paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on that list last week. They include "Live Wire" by Lora Leigh (2), "Water for Elephants: A Novel" by Sara Gruen (6), "Hidden Away" by Maya Banks (11), "Changes: A Novel of the Dresden Files" by Jim Butcher (12) and "An Unlikely Countess: A Novel of the Malloren World" by Jo Beverley (15).

There are two books on this week’s trade paperbacks list that weren’t on the list last week. They include "127 Hours: Between a Rock and a Hard Place" by Aron Ralston (12) and "The Crippled God: Book Ten of the Malazan Book of the Fallen" by Steven Erikson (15).
