My movie picks this week are 'Your Highness' and 'TRON: Legacy'

It’s Wednesday, so today I give you my weekly list of movies that will open in theatres this week as well as a list of movies that will be released this week on DVD.

I hope this will serve as a useful guide as to what’s going on this week if you happen to be near a movie theatre or if you’re looking for something to drop into your NetFlix queue.

Movies that are scheduled to hit theatres this Friday include:

American: The Bill Hicks Story (Not Rated, Documentary, Comedy): Directed by Matt Harlock and Paul Thomas and starring Kevin Booth, John Farneti, Bill Hicks, Lynn Hicks and Mary Hicks.

Arthur (PG-13, Comedy): Directed by Jason Winer and starring Russell Brand, Jennifer Garner, Luis Guzman, Greta Gerwig and Helen Mirren.

Born to Be Wild (G, Documentary, Special Interest): Directed by David Lickley and starring the voice of Morgan Freeman.

Ceremony (R, Comedy, Romance): Directed by Max Winkler and starring Uma Thurman, Michael Angarano, Lee Pace, Rebecca Mader and Reece Thompson.

Hanna (PG-13, Action, Adventure): Directed by Joe Wright and starring Saoirse Ronan, Eric Bana, Cate Blanchett, Anna Popplewell and Olivia Williams.

Henry’s Crime (R, Comedy Romance): Starring Keanu Reeves, Vera Farmiga, James Caan, Judy Greer and Peter Stormare.

Meek’s Cutoff (PG, Westerns): Directed by Kelly Reichardt and starring Michelle Williams, Bruce Greenwood, Zoe Kazan, Paul Dano and Shirley Henderson.

Meet Monica Velour (R, Drama, Comedy, Romance): Directed by Keith Bearden and starring Kim Cattrall, Dustin Ingram, Brian Dennehy, Keith David and Jee Young Han.

No Eres Tu, Soy Yo (Not Rated, Comedy, Foreign): Directed by Alejandro Springall and starring Eugenio Derbez, Martina Garcia, Alejandra Barros, Juan Rios and Monica Dionne.

Soul Surfer (PG, Drama, Family, Sports, Action): Starring Anna Sophia Robb, Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt, Carrie Underwood and Jeremy Sumpter.

Your Highness (R, Comedy, Fantasy): Directed by David Gordon Green and starring Danny McBride, James Fanco, Zooey Deschanel, Natalie Portman and Justin Theroux.

New DVD releases for the week of April 5 include:

Casino Jack (R, Comedy, Drama): Directed by George Hickenlooper and starring Kevin Spacey, Barry Pepper, Kelly Preston, Jon Lovitz and Spencer Garrett.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader (Released on April 8, Adventure, Family): Directed by Michael Apted and starring Ben Barnes, Skandar Keynes, Georgie Henley, Anna Popplewell and William Moseley.

I Love You, Phillip Morris (R, Comedy, Drama, Romance): Directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa and starring Jim Carrey, Ewan McGregor, Leslie Mann, Rodrigo Santoro and Antoni Corone.

Little Fockers (PG-13, Comedy): Directed by Paul Weitz and starring Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Teri Polo, Owen Wilson and Blythe Danner.

TRON: Legacy (PG, Science Fiction, Action): Directed by Joseph Kosinski and starring Garrett Hedlund, Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde, Bruce Boxleitner and Beau Garrett.

Your Love Never Fails (G, Comedy): Directed by Michael Feifer and starring Elisa Donovan, Fred Willard, Brad Rowe, Tom Skerritt and John Schneider.

If I could only watch one movie at the theatre this week, it would be “Your Highness,” and if I had to pick just one DVD to rent this week, it would be “TRON: Legacy.”
