'Star Wars: Deceived' appears on hardcover fiction best-seller list

It’s Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly review of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Seller List. According to the list, we’ve got three new books at the top of the four major best-seller lists this week.

"Live Wire" by Harlan Coben replaced "Toys" by James Patterson as the top book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list.

"Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption" by Laura Hillenbrand replaced "Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock" by Sammy Hagar as the No. 1 book on the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list.

"The Shadow of Your Smile" by Mary Higgins Clark (Pocket) replaced “Water for Elephants: A Novel” by Sara Gruen as the top book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list.

“Water for Elephants” retained the No. 1 spot on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list.

There are eight books on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. Those books (and their place on the list) are "Live Wire" by Harlan Coben (1), "Night Road" by Kristin Hannah (4), "The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party" by Alexander McCall Smith (5), "A Lesson in Secrets" by Jacqueline Winspear (8), "Cold Wind" by C.J. Box (9), "Breaking the Rules" by Suzanne Brockmann (10), "The Peach Keeper" by Sarah Addison Allen (13) and "Star Wars: Deceived" by Paul S. Kemp (14).

There are four books on this week’s hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They include "Unfamiliar Fishes" by Sarah Vowell (8), "The Entrepreneur Equation" by Carol Roth (10), "Place of Yes" by Bethenny Frankel with Eve Adamson (12) and "The Dressmaker of Khair Khana" by Gayle Tzemach Lemmon (15).

There are seven books on this week’s mass market paperbacks best-sellers list that weren’t on that list last week. They include "The Shadow of Your Smile" by Mary Higgins Clark (1), "Caught" by Harlan Coben (2), "Big Girl" by Danielle Steel (8), "Game of Thrones" by George R.R. Martin (10), "An Affair Without End" by Candace Camp (13), "The Sacred Vault" by Andy McDermott (14) and "Seduce Me in Dreams" by Jacquelyn Frank (15).

There are two books on this week’s trade paperbacks list that weren’t on the list last week. They include "Leaving" by Karen Kingsbury (3) and "A Visit from the Goon Squad" by Jennifer Egan (15).

As a reminder, I’m posting these lists each Sunday because they, as a whole, represent a great, contemporary recommended reading list.
