Ramer, who has held the top spot for the past two weeks, correctly picked the winner of eight out of 10 games last Saturday. Ramer holds a six-point lead over Johnny Davis and Hunter Norris, who are tied for second place.
Jeremy Matheny and my brother, Mark Peacock, are tied for fourth place. I’m in sixth place and four people are tied for seventh place. They are Aaron Albritton, Sharon Peacock, David Price and Travis Presley. Justin Jensen was in eleventh place.
With four more weeks to go, there is still time for everyone out there to make their way into the Top 10. Remember, it’s a marathon, not a sprint, and a lot can happen in the college football world in the next month or so.

There are more than a few good SEC football games on tap for this week, including several games with national implications. Games set for this Saturday include Texas A&M at Alabama, Arkansas at South Carolina, Georgia at Auburn, Mississippi State at LSU, Vanderbilt at Ole Miss, Louisiana-Lafayette at Florida and Missouri at Tennessee.
For what it’s worth, here are my picks for this weekend’s slate of games. I like Alabama over Texas A&M, South Carolina over Arkansas, Georgia over Auburn, LSU over Mississippi State, Ole Miss over Vanderbilt, Florida over UL-Lafayette and Tennessee over Missouri. Kentucky doesn’t play this week.

The Rev. Roshelle McMillion, who is best known locally for his Lil Mac youth basketball camp, brought an interesting old sports news item by The Courant office on Monday morning.
The news clipping was from the Nov. 20, 1986 edition of Bowler’s Digest and was an excerpt from “Up Allen’s Alley” by Lafayette Allen Jr., a member of the Detroit Bowling Hall of Fame. Under the headline, “Big Mac Blasts 814 At Satellite Bowl,” the story detailed an outstanding night that McMillion had at the local bowling lane. The entire clip reads as follows.
“Roshelle ‘Big Mac’ McMillion, Inkster’s pride and joy, burst into the national limelight with a sensational 814 series during a recent meeting of the Local 25 Mixed League at Mark’s Satellite Bowl.
“Let the record show that McMillion’s blast was the highest total ever posted at Satellite, the highest three-game series ever recorded by a black bowler in ABC competition, and the fourth highest set rolled in the Detroit area.
“McMillion opened with 10 strikes in his first game of 278, posted a 299 after leaving the 10-pin on the last shot, and finished the night with a gutter ball after registering 237. Just think – it didn’t take two hands to roll it.”
McMillion told me on Monday that he’s retired from bowling, but noted that he bowled a number of 300 games during his outstanding career as a bowler.
