Four top spots on this week's best-selling books lists remain unchanged

Today is Sunday, so that means that it’s time for my weekly breakdown of this week’s Publishers Weekly Best-Sellers Lists. According to those lists, there are no new books at the top of the four major best-sellers lists this week.

"Mistress" by James Patterson and David Ellis remained the No. 1 book on the hardcover fiction best-sellers list for the third straight week.

"The Liberty Amendments" by Mark R. Levin retained its spot as the No. 1 book on the hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list for the second week straight.

"The Inn at Rose Harbor" by Debbie Macomber remained the top book on the mass market paperback best-sellers list for the fourth week in a row.

"The Casual Vacancy" by J.K. Rowling remained the top book on the trade paperbacks best-sellers list for the second straight week.

There were four books on this week’s hardcover fiction best-sellers list that weren’t on that list last week. They (and their places on the list) included “The Third Kingdom" by Terry Goodkind (6), "Night Film: A Novel" by Marisha Pessi (7), "The Kill List" by Frederick Forsythe (8) and "The Bone Season: A Novel" by Samantha Shannon (9).

There were four books on this week’s hardcover nonfiction best-sellers list that weren’t on the list last week. They included "Exposed: The Secret Life of Jodi Arias" by Jane Velez-Mitchell (6), "The Synchronicity Key: The Hidden Intelligence Guiding the Universe and You" by David Wilcox (10), "Chris Powell's Choose More, Lose More for Life" by Chris Powell (12) and "Manson: The Life and Times of Charles Manson" by Jeff Guinn (13).

There was only one book on this week’s mass market paperbacks best-sellers list that wasn’t on the list last week – “The Last Man: A Novel” by Vince Flynn, which came in at No. 5 on the list.

There was only one book on this week’s trade paperbacks best-sellers list that wasn’t on the list last week - "Where’d You Go, Bernadette: A Novel” by Maria Semple, which came in at No. 13 on the list.

As a reminder, I’m posting these lists each Sunday because they, as a whole, represent a great, contemporary recommended reading list.
