Five UFOs reported in Alabama during the month of September

It’s the second Saturday of the month, so today I’m giving you an update on UFO reports in Alabama from the previous month, courtesy of the Mutual UFO Network.

A search for UFO reports in Alabama between September 1 and September 30 on MUFON’s website, www.mufon.com, resulted in five reports from within our state during that time.

The first incident occurred on Sat., Sept. 7, at 11 p.m. at Calera, which is located in Chilton and Shelby counties. The witness in that case was sitting on his back porch when he saw an orange, yellow light that originated from the southeast. The light moved and pulsed, but eventually stopped and hovered before rising and traveling west.

Twice, while hovering, the light grew very dim before growing brighter and moving away. In all, the sighting lasted about three minutes, and the man’s wife saw about half of the event. The man remained on the porch, and the wife was walking to the front yard when the light disappeared. She unsuccessfully tried to video the object with her cellphone.

The object moved silently, but the witness did notice that as the light moved closer to him, the neighborhood dogs began barking. When the object left, the dogs grew quiet.

At first, the witness thought the object was an airplane, but the more he watched it, he considered the idea that it was a meteor. He discarded the idea though because the object was moving too slowly.

“I was very confused by what myself and wife witnessed,” the man said. “We both agree that it was not like anything that we have ever seen. I lost sight of the light when it abruptly went out. I stayed outside several minutes after to see if it reappeared. It never did.”

The second incident occurred on Thurs., Sept. 19, at 2 a.m. in Fairhope in Baldwin County. In this case, a woman and her husband heard dogs barking and went outside to see what was happening. Once outside, they saw a white, star-like “rotating craft” with many lights in the trees. These orbs pulsated light and rose very slowly in a “strange formation” and appeared to be flashing at each other.

Next, they saw what looked like a beige-colored, triangular stealth jet with no lights, but with two exhaust ports in the rear. The witnesses then heard a sonic boom, and the jet flew straight into the star-like orbs. The last they saw of the rotating craft in the trees it was projecting many colors and was moving in all directions.

The third incident also occurred on Thurs., Sept. 19, in Fairhope, but took place about 20 hours later, around 10 p.m. The witness in this case was watching the sky from his front porch when he saw a slow-moving triangular craft. The craft had “many bright lights,” and it moved slowly above his front yard.

The fourth incident occurred on Fri., Sept. 20, at 7:40 p.m. near Phenix City, which is in Lee and Russell counties. In this case, a woman and her six-year-old son were returning to Phenix City from Columbus, Ga. when all of the sudden the woman saw what she thought was a star.

“I thought this was strange considering it wasn’t dark yet and this object was so bright and glowed like a pinkish color,” the woman said. “Suddenly it shot across the sky and stopped above what had to be a giant black boomerang object. I say that because I could clearly see the shape of it and see how dull the black was on it.”

The boy saw it at this point and started “freaking out along with me in total disbelief,” the woman said.

They watched it until the woman pulled over at a grocery store parking lot, where she called her husband to tell him to come to the store. By this time, everyone in the parking lot is watching the object, and her husband took a picture of it. Unfortunately, the object was too far away and was barely discernable in the photo. They continued to watch the object until it rose out of view.

“My son was so scared he didn’t want to sleep alone that night,” the woman said. “It still freaks me out to think of what we all witnessed.”

The fifth incident occurred on the nights of Fri., Sept. 27, and Sat., Sept. 28, in Columbiana, which is in Shelby County. Witnesses in this case saw a “very bright light” two nights in the row in the same area and the object stayed in the vicinity for about three minutes, the witness said. The object hovered and displayed white, rotating lights before disappearing.

Before closing out this week, I just want to put it out there again that I would be very interested to hear from any readers of The Courant who have witnessed a UFO in Conecuh County. I think a lot of other people would be interested in hearing your story too, and I’m willing to accept your report anonymously.
