Andalusia sighting among four UFO reports in Alabama during June

It’s the second Friday of the month, so this week I’m giving you an update on UFO reports in Alabama from the previous month, courtesy of the Mutual UFO Network.

A search for UFO reports in Alabama between June 1 and June 30 on MUFON’s website, www.mufon.com, resulted in four reports from within our state during that time, including one from Andalusia.

The first incident occurred on Thurs., June 11, around 10:15 p.m. in Slapout, which is in Elmore County. The witness in this case was walking his dog before bed and saw an unusual star-like object in the sky that caught his attention. The man continued to watch the object and noticed that it appeared to be about a mile away, hovering about 1,000 feet above the ground.

The man continued to watch as the light disappeared only to have greenish orange lights appear around its edges and a white beam of light shine straight down from beneath it. “I thought it looked like a saucer with the lights arranged around it,” the witness said. In all, the witness watched the strange object for over 10 minutes and at one point the object moved as close as 500 yards away from the witness.

Eventually, the object passed over the witness, who described it as triangle-shaped with the point of the triangle squared off. The witness then ran inside and described the incident as “extremely scary.”

The second incident occurred on Fri., June 12, around 10 p.m. in Columbiana, which is in Shelby County. Two witnesses in this case saw a UFO fly silently over a cow field. At first, they thought it was an airplane, but knew it was something else because it didn’t make any noise.

The witnesses grew frightened and hid behind a mobile home. About five seconds later, they watched as three to five planes appeared, flying toward the UFO. Shortly thereafter, they lost sight of the UFO and planes, but later they saw more planes flying across the sky in the direction of the UFO.

The third incident occurred on Fri., June 26, around 5:18 p.m. in Theodore, which is in Mobile County. The witnesses in this case were traveling north of Bellingrath Road, about a mile from Bellingrath Gardens and just past Delchamps Road. At first, the driver noticed a “glimmer of light” in the sky and thought it was an airplane.

As the witness’ eyes focused on the object, he realized that the object was 500 to 1,000 feet away and was cylindrical in shape. The driver stopped his vehicle to watch and determined that the object was stationary. He also said the object was 30 to 100 feet long, looked metallic and emitted no sound.

The witness also noticed that there were four to five black circles in the middle of the craft that looked like windows. The witness watched the object for about two minutes before it moved east and became lost behind the trees. The witness said the object looked like an “extended shiny can of beans with no label.”

The fourth and final incident occurred on Mon., June 29, around 12:30 a.m. in Andalusia, which is in Covington County. The witness in this case was walking home from a friend’s house and looked up in the sky to see three different-sized orange lights flying straight towards the northeast. Each of the three orange lights had very long rays of bright light trailing behind them, the witness said. The lights emitted no noise and eventually disappeared from view behind some trees.

Before closing out this week, I just want to put it out there again that I would be very interested to hear from anyone who have witnessed a UFO, especially in Conecuh County. I think a lot of other people would be interested in hearing your story too, and I’m willing to accept your report anonymously.
