Three UFO reports were filed in Alabama during the month of August

Photo submitted by Abbeville witness.
It’s the second Thursday of the month, so this week I’m giving you an update on UFO reports in Alabama from the previous month, courtesy of the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). A search for UFO reports in Alabama between Aug. 1 and Aug. 31 on MUFON’s website, www.mufon.com, resulted in three reports from within our state during that time.

The first incident took place on Fri., Aug 4, around midnight in Southside, a city that lies within Etowah and Calhoun counties in northeastern Alabama. In this case, a husband and wife couple were at home in their yard looking at the stars and as they talked about the constellations, the husband noticed that one of the stars appeared to grow brighter. He pointed it out to his wife, and they watched as it began moving “in irregular patterns.”

They watched as it moved up and down, side to side and in a zig-zag pattern. A short time later, the couple noticed that two other “starlike objects” were moving with it. The two new lights weren’t nearly as bright as the first, but they formed a perfect triangle-shape with the first light.

“We continued to watch in amazement,” the husband said. “As one light moved, the other moved in unison, same speed and same direction, leading us to believe they were attached, but as they continued to dance and move, they began to move independently of one another.”

Track left behind in Abbeville.
The man said that, at first, they had a hard time believing what they were seeing, but they continued to watch the strange lights for about two hours before going inside to bed. After the first hour, the movements became less abrupt, almost to the point that they seemed to become motionless for long periods of time, the husband said.

The second incident, which was very strange, took place on Sat., Aug. 5, around midnight in Abbeville in Henry County, which is in southeast Alabama, near the Georgia state line. The witness in this case said that he awoke to the sound of barking dogs and when he looked outside he saw a “dot” moving in the sky. As the witness continued to watch, the object “crashed” in the woods near the man’s home.

A short time later, the man’s German Shepard dog alerted at something near a fire pit in his yard and when the man looked in that direction he saw a figure run behind a box. The witness snapped several photos during the incident and posted them online along with his report. Two of those photos, if they are genuine, show a white, slender figure with large black eyes behind a stack of boxes. A third photo, apparently taken during the daytime, shows an unusual footprint, apparently made in soft dirt near the boxes.

The witness went on to say that he was frightened by the incident and wanted to sell his house because he has two infant children living at home.

The third incident occurred on Fri., Aug. 18, around midnight in Saginaw, which is a small community about 2-1/2 miles north of Calera in Shelby County, not far from Birmingham. The witness in this case captured footage of the UFO on a security camera and submitted the video with his report. The video was about 36 minutes long.

A review of that video showed an unusual blue-colored object hovering over a tree line. The object in the film was blurry, and appeared to change shape. At times, it appeared long, almost if it were trailing something, and at other times, it appeared to shorten. Whatever it was he caught on film, it was highly unusual.

Before closing out this week, I just want to put it out there again that I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has witnessed a UFO, especially in Conecuh County. I think a lot of other people would be interested in hearing your story too, and I’m willing to accept your report anonymously.
